 Los Angeles: California primary election 2010 results are out. In Tuesday’s primary people preferred former CEOs than veteran congressmen for general election this fall. Ms. Fiorina, a former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and Ms. Whitman, the former eBay CEO and a billionaire have got the ticket for the G.O.P. nominations for the U.S. Senate and Governor. The result approves the exit poll predictions that people were highly desperate with those in office.
Ms. Fiorina has beaten Tom Campbell, a former congressman and she has to face the current senator Barbara Boxer in coming election. After huge money rolledgovernor ’s race Ms. Whitman has prevailed over Steve Poizner, the state insurance commissioner, who had spent $24 million of his own money for his primary campaign. Ms. Whitman will challenge Jerry Brown a formergovernor of California three decades ago.
In another Democratic run off between Senator Blanche Lincoln and Lt. Gov. Bill Halter ended with former’s win. Despite of financial support from organized labors and other special interest groups Lt. Gov. Bill Halter could not beatLincoln. In Arkansas Nikki Haley clearly defeated all accusations of marital infidelity and has cleared her way to face U.S. Representative J. Gresham Barrett.
Sharron Angle, a conservative Tea Party candidate is the republican nominee to challenge Senator Harry Reid from Nevada. Virginia state senator Robert Hurt made an awesome victory. The republican has to challenge the Democratic Mr. Perriello, known for his charismatic role in both health care bill and climate change measures. And the Republican Tom Graves is the only law maker elected to the Congress from Georgia.
California Elections 2010 for Governor and Senate went principally as expected last Tuesday night. The results were significant because for the first time in history, the CaliforniaRepublican Party voted females to the top of the ticket in both the governor’s race and the race for the United States Senate seat.
Meg Whitman (billionaire former eBay chief) won the Republican primary for California Governor advancing to face former Governor Jerry Brown (two-term governor and democratic icon). Meg Whitman spent lots of her own money into her first-time bid for political office. Meanwhile, Carly Fiorina (former Hewlett-Packard Co. Ceo) won the right to challenge Senator Barbara Boxer (Democrat) in the fall.
